Equipped for excellence within and outside academia

Building skills for every career opportunity

Transforming the PhD training experience

Professional and personal training at all stages

The 18 Early Stage Researchers in our network will work alongside experts from a wide variety of fields. They will learn cutting-edge techniques across different research areas while also covering valuable skills in open science, patient involvement, and leadership.

To reach these ambitious goals, our teaching programme comprises four pillars.

To boost the EUs competitiveness in immunotherapy and (personalized) cancer metastasis approaches.

Local graduate schools

Engaging with hosting centres

Each host institute offers our fellows access to a range of local scientific and professional skills training through their PhD graduate schools. These will cover essential topics like laboratory safety, research integrity, statistics, and scientific writing, as well as project-specific needs, such as specialized assays and programming skills.

Training and networking through secondments

Exploring academic and industrial research

Our secondment scheme offers fellows the opportunity to visit different research environments and gain valuable experience across areas. Each fellow will complete at least one secondment in a non-academic setting and one with a partner from a different work package, ensuring exposure to a variety of approaches and perspectives within the project.

Personal development

Tailored journeys for each fellow

A core element of the Mac4Me training programme is looking beyond the technical expertise, ensuring each fellow has the tools to thrive both professionally and personally. Our fellows will create a Personal Career Development Plan that they will follow with guidance from their supervisory team and a dedicated mentor from another institution.

Consortium-wide meetings

Forging the Mac4Me network

These meetings are designed to promote the exchange of expertise between institutions, foster the dissemination of research findings, and strengthen networking opportunities. In addition, it will provide the chance to acquire new techniques and methods around cancer metastasis, immunotherapy, and drug development.
