Therapy response of PCa/BCa tumour cells to Standard of Care (SoC) therapies in the context of the age-relevant and liver-specific microenvironment

Objectives:

  1. Define PCa/BCa cell response to SoC treatments in 2D co-cultures with age-relevant macrophages
  2. Assess changes in SoC treatment responses of PCa/BCa cells in liver-specific 3D matrix
  3. Test efficacy of combination of SoC and macrophage-targeted treatments on PCa/BCa cell responses in liver OoC

Expected Results: Sensitivity to SoC treatments of PCa/BCa tumour cells will be assessed and response biomarkers (survival, viability, migration, motility) will be selected to determine therapy response changes (i.e. treatment resistance) induced by the age-relevant, organ-specific tumour-microenvironment. Combination modalities of SoC drugs with macrophage-targeted treatments will be tested to overcome treatment resistance and restore SoC drug sensitivity.
