WP2

Objectives:

1. Define BCa/PCa cell response to SoC treatments in 2D co-cultures with age-relevant macrophages
2. Assess changes in SoC treatment responses of BCa/PCa cells in bone-specific 3D matrix
3. Test efficacy of combination of SoC and macrophage-targeted treatments on BCa/PCa cell responses in bone OoC.

Expected Results: Sensitivity to SoC treatments of BCa/PCa tumour cells will be assessed and response biomarkers (survival, viability, migration, motility) will be selected to determine therapy response changes (i.e. treatment resistance) induced by the age-relevant, organ-specific tumour-microenvironment. Combination modalities of SoC drugs with macrophage-targeted treatments will be tested to overcome treatment resistance and restore SoC drug sensitivity.
